Family Fun at Tutu's House in Waimea

We celebrated Father's Day at Tutu's House in Waimea on Saturday, June 19 with a Learning Through Play Day. Activities were setup for children and parents to play together and information was available for parents to discover how young children learn best through play. Mahalo to the parents and children who attended and especially to Lorraine Urbic for her help in setting up, cleaning up and the genuine hospitality of Tutu's House.

Provider Gathering

We'd love for ALL family child care providers to join us at a Provider Gathering on Saturday, August 14 at 11:30 a.m. Several providers are gathering together after the Food Program Meeting at Genki Sushi at Kona Commons for a "Dutch Treat" luncheon (share the bill/pay your own). Please come for a casual fun time to talk story and to get and give support and encouragement to "sister" providers in West Hawaii. Call the Kona office for more information.

Provider Newsletter

A one page newsletter is being sent out monthly to all family child care providers in West Hawaii. For those with internet access, it is sent to your email address. Please let us know if there's any special news you would like to share with the early childhood community. Click here for the latest West Hawaii Provider Newsletter.

Charity Walk Fun!

32nd charity walk patch big island team 2010-1

Pictured Above at the 32nd Annual Charity Walk are (L-R): Debbie Low, Gail Judd, Tami Kirk, Attila and Ashley Sundai, Paula Palma, Rochelle Hall and Nicholas Hall (missing: Mary Gerth).

PATCH teamed up with Seagull Schools at Mauna Lani and provided activities for children at the finish line. Kids were hula hooping, blowing bubbles, making bracelets and bookmarks, and just having a fun time.  A special mahalo to those who participated in the walk, supported us with their contributions, and helped us at the finish line with children’s activities.  Mark your calendars now and join us next year on May 21, 2011.
